Lent

Wednesday, 5th March begins the Lenten season

This Lent, we will be taking part in the Big Lent Walk 2025! This inspiring event is an opportunity for us to come together as a community and make a positive impact while promoting physical activity and teamwork amongst our students.

The Big Lent Walk is a nationwide initiative aimed at raising funds for CAFOD (Catholic Agency for Overseas Development). Every £1 raised through the Big Lent Walk will help fight poverty globally in countries like Afghanistan, Colombia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and South Sudan. By participating in the Big Lent Walk, we are not only encouraging our students to stay active but also teaching them the importance of compassion and generosity.

During Lent, it is important to do something for others rather than just give something up. It would be wonderful if you could take some time to talk to your child about what ‘actions’ they could do to help others.

Fundraising - The Big Lent Walk

Each class will be taking part in the walk by running, walking, or skipping around our school field. Our collective goal is to reach a total distance of 200 kilometres by the end of Lent. This ambitious target will require the dedication and enthusiasm of all our students, and we are confident that they will rise to the challenge.

To support our efforts and contribute to this wonderful cause, we kindly ask parents and guardians to consider making a donation. You can do so by clicking on the link below, which will direct you to the donation page. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant difference and help us reach our fundraising goal.
